Salvadorenas dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Metapan 's 30. Salvadorenas forced 22 Metapan turnovers. Center Silvia Vega (176-2003) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Costa Rican point guard Gabriela Alvarado (177-1997) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Cuban center Rachel Contreras (184-1999) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Canadian guard Jazmyn Kellogg (170) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
